The Delhi High Court has ordered to award one extra mark to all the candidates who answered one of the questions incorrectly in FMGE December 2020 exam. The court passed the order while hearing a petition filed by the Association of MD Physicians, contending that one of the questions in FMGE December question paper was erroneous. The petitioner had sought one extra mark against the particular question which had no correct answer among the multiple options.

"All candidates must be awarded one mark in lieu of the disputed question," the court said. Those candidates who had marked option (c) won’t be given extra mark. "To give them an additional grace mark would in fact reward them doubly for one incorrect question in the question paper. The candidates whose answer to the disputed question was marked incorrect, however, must be reassessed with one extra mark," the Court said.

b) Death rate

c) Maternal Mortality rate

d) Infant mortality rate.”

The plea said that the question was technically incorrect as the SRS gives information about all the four parameters mentioned in the question. In its response, NBE had stated that he FMGE questions undergo both pre-examination verification and post-examination validation and the particular question was reviewed by eight experts in the field of community medicine at various stages.
