Dharmendra Pradhan slams Rahul Gandhi for demanding NEET-UG 2021 postponement
On Rahul Gandhi's demand to postpone NEET-UG 2021, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Congress leader was a "pseudo expert".
After the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lent his support to the students demanding the postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET-UG 2021, the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that Rahul Gandhi was a "pseudo expert" with an "overflowing vanity and a misplaced sense of entitlement".
On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to defer the NEET-UG examination date which is scheduled for September 12. The Apex Court made it clear that it does not want to interfere with the process as it will be unfair. Despite this, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor were supporting the demand of the students to postpone the examination. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Government of India is blind to students distress, he urged the Centre to reschedule the examination.
Pradhan criticized Rahul for questioning the Supreme Court verdict and experts on NEET and said "yuvraj (prince) should stick to his expertise of concocting lies than issuing statements on matters he has no understanding of".
"Rahul Gandhi perceives himself to be an expert on everything without having an iota of knowledge. Overflowing vanity & misplaced sense of entitlement of a failed crown prince is no alibi to meddle into the schedule of examinations, give undue stress & make the students suffer," Pradhan tweeted.
Some students have been demanding to reschedule NEET-UG 2021 to October citing that the exam schedule is clashing with other exams. However, National Testing Agency (NTA) and Education Ministry had said earlier that the examination is all set to be held on the scheduled date and there will be no further change in the NEET-UG 2021 schedule.
