The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has concluded the FMGE exam for the December 2025 session today with Paper 2. The FMGE paper 2 exam 2026 was concluded at 4:30 PM. Paper 2 of the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination consists of clinical subjects. The FMGE 2026 paper 2 exam was conducted for 200 marks in medicine, psychiatry, radiotherapy, general surgery, orthopedics and other clinical subjects. FMGE 2026 Paper 2 Difficulty Level
The overall difficulty level of FMGE 2026 paper 2 exam was moderate. The questions asked in the examination were as per the marks distribution shared by NBE in the official notification. Several students found the paper moderate where few students called the paper conceptually solemn. The distribution of marks for clinical subject is provided below.

FMGE December 2025 Exam Concludes: What's Next?
FMGE 2026 Exam for December 2025 session has concluded. Students who have appeared for the exam will soon be able to check FMGE December 2025 result by February 17, 2026. The FMGE cutoff is 150 marks out of 300.

FMGE exam is of moderate difficulty level as per the student reaction and expert exam analysis derived from top coaching institutes and the evaluators. A candidate need to focus on FMGE exam preparation around solving the multiple-choice questions. As there is no negative marking in the exam, this makes it easy for candidates to attempt the entire question paper. However, a minimum of 50% marks needs to be scored in order to receive the Pass Certificate from NBEMS

There are around 35- 40 thousands student participate in the FMGE exam every year. According to the previous year FMGE result statistics, the number of candidates who qualify and secure the FMGE certificates every session is between 20 - 30 %. Though this data can be changed if the number of applicants or difficulty level of exam changes drastically.
Last year in 2023 a total of 38,355 applicants participate and the FMGE passing percentage was 23%.
