Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026: State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, is expected to announce schedule for Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026 shortly. It must be noted that MBBS/BDS Maharashtra counselling will be conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses offered by government, government-aided, private and minority medical colleges across state. 

Candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and wish to get admission under 85% State Quota seats will have to complete online registration, upload documents, fill their preferred colleges and courses and participate in Maharashtra NEET seat allotment rounds. As of now, official notification is awaited, medical candidates are advised to keep all documents ready.

Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule Awaited

Maharashtra CET Cell has not yet released official counselling calendar. Once published, it will include important dates for online registration, document verification, publication of state merit list, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting to allotted colleges. Maharashtra NEET counselling is expected to begin after release of detailed state merit list and seat matrix. Candidates should note that admission will be given based on NEET UG 2026 rank, state merit position, reservation policy, seat availability and choices filled during counselling.

Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2026 Registration 

Candidates can complete online MBBS/BDS Maharashtra registration, once counselling portal becomes active. Maharashtra NEET registration is expected to include these steps

  • Go to official website 

  • Register using NEET UG 2026 details

  • Fill in academic, category and domicile information

  • Upload scanned copies of required documents

  • Pay counselling registration fee

  • Submit application form

  • Download and save it

Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 Choice Filling Process

After state merit list is released, eligible candidates will be allowed to fill and lock their college and course preferences. During choice filling, candidates should:

  • Carefully select colleges in order of preference

  • Include a sufficient number of choices to improve admission chances

  • Arrange preferences wisely based on previous cut-offs, location, fee structure and category

  • Review all selected options before locking them

  • Lock choices before deadline, as unlocked choices may be auto-locked by system after closing time

Seat allotment will be made as per candidate's NEET merit, reservation category, availability of seats and preferences submitted during choice filling.

What Happens After Maharashtra NEET UG 2026 Choice Filling?

Once choice filling window closes, CET Cell will start seat allotment based on merit and preferences submitted by candidates. Those allotted seats will have to download Maharashtra NEET allotment letter, report to allotted institute within specified timeline and complete admission formalities with original documents and fee. Candidates not satisfied with their allotted seat can participate in subsequent counselling rounds, subject to Maharashtra counselling rules notified by the authority.

Q:   What does NEET counselling seat matrix mean?
A: 

NEET counselling seat matrix refers to the number of seats offered across the participating institutes for each course. The seat matrix is released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) before the commencement of the counselling process. The seat matrix is released in institute-wise categories for the types of institutes, such as Deemed universities, AIIMS & JIPMER, etc. For NEET 2025 counselling, the primary seat matrix released by MCC for Round 1 was of for Deemed University, Central University, BSc Nursing and AIQ seats. After that, for the second and third rounds, MCC releases the list of newly added seats along with the clear vacancy and virtual vacancy. 

Q:   How many rounds are there in NEET UG Counselling?

The MCC conducts around 4 to 5 rounds for NEET UG Counselling process for MBBS, BDS, BHMS and other seats. The rounds of NEET counselling depends on seat matrix and number of vacant seats.

Q:   What is the NEET counselling registration fee?
A: 

The NEET counselling registration fee varies for different candidate categories. For the AIQ seats and Central Universities, the fee for the General category candidates is INR 1,000 and for the SC, ST, OBC and PwD category candidates, the fee is INR 500. For participating in the NEET counselling process for Deemed Universities, the registration fee for all category candidates is INR 5,000. The registration fee is non-refundable. On the other hand, candidates will have to pay the tuition fee which is refundable. The amount for the General category candidates for the AIQ seats and Central Universities is INR 10,000. For the reserved category candidates, the amount is INR 5,000. For Deemed Universities, the tuition fee to be paid by all category candidates is INR 2,00,000. Those who would not be allotted a seat after the NEET counselling process will be refunded the tuition fee after the conclusion of the counselling rounds.
