Students might be allowed to appear for UG and PG health science summer 2020 University exams from their home town this year, the MUHS said in a statement.

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has said that it is planning to allow Undergraduate and Postgraduate students to appear for summer 2020 University exams from any health science college of their choice at their hometown or from their own college.

Keeping in mind the current situation in the state due to coronavirus and with students going back to their home town, the MUHS has firmed up its plan to give options to students to appear from their home town.

Over 65,000 students will be appearing for the University exams, and to ensure no inconvenience is caused to students, the University is planning to allow them to appear from their home town.

These students are pursuing allopathy, dental, homeopathy, nursing, Ayurveda, Unani, etc, in 373 affiliated colleges in the state.

“MUHS Vice-Chancellor Dileep Mhaisekar held at lead 15 online meetings with various stakeholders including deans and principals of all the colleges. The stakeholders have agreed to the plan,” a dean of medical college told a media house.

The University is expected to reveal all details regarding the same with colleges and students soon, as per the media reports.

Earlier, the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari, in his capacity as Chancellor of universities, granted permission to conduct all under-graduate and post-graduate examinations of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences(MUHS), as proposed by the University.

As per the Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh, the University will conduct all its summer examinations in three phases, depending on the situation, from July 15 onwards.
