NEET 2025 Counselling: Choice Filling Underway with 26,500 Seats Available for Allotment

The Medical Counselling Committee has released the seat matrix for the NEET 2025 counselling process. The Round 1 registration process started on July 21, 2025, and the choice filling has started on July 22, 2025. The seat matrix consists of 26,500 seats from MBBS and BDS courses.

NEET 2025 Counselling Round 1 Seat Matrix
MCC has released the NEET 2025 counselling seat matrix for different institute types. There are a total of 26,515 seats in this round. The table below brings the seat matrix PDF along with the number of seats.

As can be seen above, Deemed Universities, or the medical or dental faculty of private institutes has the highest number of seats, which is 13,939, followed by AIQ seats or the Government medical colleges, which is 8,651.
On the other hand, AIIMS,BHU and JIPMER, or the institutes of national importance have 2,179 seats, and the Central Universities have 1,272 seats. The ESIC institutes have 474 seats.
NEET 2025 Choice Filling Process
- Visit the official website of MCC – mcc.nic.in or directly enter https://mcc.admissions.nic.in/Counseling/Root/Home.aspx?enc=89xw0ctRCXfaXHy3CACizMGeESUPc92SoSpzB/gzd/wSY6DDua8cQKQ+HT29rjmuRXQG2NoF+WHOj6h2WBR++A==
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab and click on ‘Sign in’
- Enter the NEET UG 2025 Roll Number, Password and Security Pin
- Click on the link ‘Available Choices’.
- On clicking the “Choice Filling” icon, the choices as per individual criteria of eligibility would be displayed to the candidate on the left side basket and on clicking the button for the required choice, it will be selected. The seats chosen will be removed from the left basket and added to the right basket.
- Candidates will have to click on the ‘Save & Continue’ tab.
- Candidates may change the order of preference of choices by clicking on the Upper Arrow ./button to move up, the Down Arrow button to move down and the Delete button to delete the pre-selected choice of institutes.
- The choice Interchange (Swapping) can be carried out by selecting appropriate choices as source and destination to enable their swapping and reordering all the choices.
- If a candidate desires to delete a specific choice or a group of choices, the candidate can click the appropriate box for deletion of the choice. Further, if the candidate desires to delete multiple choices in one go, he/she can click the appropriate boxes for deletion and confirm the same, so that all unwanted choices can be deleted by this operation.
Candidates must be careful in selecting the courses and colleges. They should prepare a list first before filling the choices online at the MCC NEET 2025 counselling process. Order them in preferential order and lock the choices before final submission.
The last date of NEET 2025 counselling Round 1 choice filling is July 28, 2025, 11.55 PM. The choice locking window will be opened on July 28, 2025, from 4 PM to 11.55 PM. Based on the choices entered, the seat allotment result will be declared on July 31, 2025.
