NEET MDS Counselling 2024 Round 1 Seat Resignation Window Reopened Till August 3
NEET MDS counselling 2024 Round 1 seat resignation process has been reopened by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on August 1, 2024, for candidates whose seats were not upgraded in Round 2. The last date to resign the NEET MDS 2024 counselling Round 1 seats is August 3, 2024, 6 PM.

Announcing the same, MCC has stated, “Candidates who did not get upgraded in Round-2 and want to resign their seat of Round-1 can do so within the period 01:00 PM of 01.08.2024 upto 06:00 P.M of 03.08.2024 without forfeiture of Security Deposit after which they will be considered as part of Round-2 and will be allowed resignation only with forfeiture of their security deposit. Hence, any resignation after 06:00 P.M of 03.08.2024 will be treated as ‘Exit with Forfeiture’ of fees.”
How to Resign NEET MDS Counselling Round 1 Seats
Candidates will have to resign from the seats in online mode, as well as by visiting the institutes they have been allotted to. For online resignation, candidates will have to follow the below steps:
- Visit the official website of NEET MDS counselling – mcc.nic.in/mds-counselling
- Click on the New Registration link under Candidate Activity section
- Enter the registration credentials and click on Sign In
- Click on the Seat Resignation link
- Confirm and resign seat
- Click on save
- Download and preserve the seat resignation confirmation page till the final admission at state quota seats take place.
"Candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated online (through portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’. In such a case, the candidate will be deemed to occupy the seat still, and the rules of Round-2 will apply. Any letter other than the Resignation Letter generated through online portal will not be considered as ‘Resignation Letter’," MCC added.
Originally, MCC conducted the seat resignation process for NEET MDS 2024 counselling Round 1 before the commencement of the Round 2, from July 20 to July 22, 2024.
The NEET MDS 2024 counselling institute reporting process for Round 2 has started today and the last date of reporting is August 7, 2024. The seat allotment result was declared on July 31, 2024.

NEET MDS counselling 2025 is being conducted online. Candidates participating in the counselling of NEET MDS 2025 have to register on the official website of MCC to attend it. Candidates qualifying for NEET MDS 2025 with the minimum cut off is one of the eligibility criteria to participate in the counselling rounds. The counselling process for NEET MDS 2025 began on June 24, 2025, and will be conducted till September 8, 2025. Registered candidates can exercise choices for college and course for NEET MDS 2025 seat allotment. MCC will release the seat allotment result based on choices declared, availability of seats in college and course, reservation factor, etc.
Candidates need to report to the allotted college/institute for document verification. They have to carry the following documents in original forms along with photocopies:
- NEET MDS result or scorecard
- NEET MDS Admit Card
- BDS degree certificate
- BDS marksheets
- Internship Completion Certificate (stating that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before June 30, 2024)
- Registration Certificate from the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the State Dental Council (SDC)
- Birth Certificate or Class 10 marksheet
- Photo ID proof (PAN card/ Driving Licence/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar card/ Passport)
- Caste Certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC, if applicable)
- Disability Certificate issued by the medical board (if applicable)

It must be noted choices have to be locked in the given deadline other it gets automatically locked. Candidates are advised to fill choices carefully as it can't be modified once the timeframe ends.
