NEET PG 2021: NBE issues COVID-19 guidelines for candidates
In an official notification, NBE has issued COVID-19 advisory for NEET PG 2021 exam which is scheduled to be held on April 18, 2021. Candidates will be getting COVID e-pass along with the NEET PG 2021 admit card to facilitate travelling to test centres. Read to know more about the exam-day COVID-19 guidelines.
The National Board of Examination has issued COVID-19 advisory for candidates who will be appearing for NEET PG 2021 on April 18, 2021. The guidelines have been issued in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases across the country. NBE has released guidelines/advisory to ensure the safe conduct of NEET PG 2021 exam at 255 test cities across country. NBE has also said that NEET PG 2021 will be held as per the schedule, putting rumour of exam postponement to the rest.
“Considering the importance of the examination in admitting post-graduates in their respective subjects for further training, it is in the best interest of candidates to continue to hold this examination on the announced date,” the official notification says. The notification says that candidates will be issued COVID e pass so that they won’t face any travel issue. COVID e-pass will be released along with NEET PG 2021 admit card on April 12, 2021.
In the notification, NBE has justified the decision to NEET PG 2021 exam as per the schedule stating that COVID-19 cases have increased to an unprecedented level in recent days and the peak of cases remains unpredictable as of now.
NEET PG 2021: COVID-19 guidelines
The notification titled ‘ Conduct of NEET-PG 2021 with COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour’ has a list of protective measures which NBE has undertaken to conduct NEET PG 2021 exam. Candidates can refer to the below-mentioned COVID-19 guidelines issued by NBE.
Same State Centre: The number of test centres has been increased amid COVID-19. Candidates who chose ‘other’ as an option while selecting the test centre in NEET PG 2021 application form have been allotted centre within the state of their correspondence address to avoid inter-state travel.
COVID e-pass: A COVID e-pass will be released along with NEET PG 2021 admit card on April 12, 2021 to facilitate candidate to reach NEET PG 2021 exam centre amid travel restrictions.
Staggered entry at exam centres: To avoid overcrowding, candidates will have to report at NEET PG 2021 exam centres as per their allotted time. NBE will communicate the time slot to each individual via email and SMS.
Isolation labs: Candidates will be checked for COVID-19 infection at the entry point of the exam centres. Those showing any symptom of COVID-19 infection or detected above normal temperature will have to sit in the isolation lab to appear for NEET PG 2021 exam.
Face mask compulsory: Candidates won’t be allowed to enter exam centre if he/she doesn’t wear a face mask. Except for admit card and entry related documents required for verification, outside items like water bottle, gloves will not be allowed.
COVID-19 protective gear safety kit: A protective gear safety kit, comprising of a face shield, a face mask and 5 hand sanitizer sachets, will be provided to candidates. It will be compulsory to wear the face shield at all times.
Staggered exit of candidates from test centres: Once the exam gets over, candidates will have to exit in a staggered manner to avoid overcrowding at the NEET PG 2021 test centre. The respective centre in-charges will communicate how to go about the exit process after completion of the NEET PG 2021 exam.
NBE has introduced some changes in the NEET PG 2021 exam including the timing of the exam, the total number of questions, and tie-breaking criteria. Candidates must know changes in NEET PG 2021 exam. NEET PG 2021 test paper will comprise 200 MCQs of total 800 marks, and candidates have to answer them in 3.5 hours. Candidates are advised to check NEET PG 2021 pattern so that they can make a plan to score well in NEET PG 2021 exam.
