NEET PG 2022: SC asks students to make representation before Centre for internship deadline
Supreme Court has asked students to make representation before the Centre, seeking extension of internship deadline for NEET PG 2022. The Apex Court was hearing a petition for extension of existing deadline of May 31 to complete internship.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday, February 8 refused to interfere in the internship matter for NEET PG 2022 terming it a policy matter. While hearing a petition filed by a group of MBBS students, the court asked them to make representation before the Centre and request it to extend the internship deadline for NEET PG 2022 exam. The bench of justices DY Chandrachud and Surya Kant was hearing the petition where students had urged the court to direct the government to extend existing internship deadline of May 31.
Students said that they couldn’t complete the iNEET PG 2022 internship in the stipulated time due to COVID-19 duty last year. Earlier the government decided to postpone NEET PG 2022 to 6-8 weeks. The exam was scheduled to be held on March 12 as per the original schedule. As per the revised NEET PG 2022 dates, the exam will be held on May 21. NBE also extended the application date to March 25. Earlier candidates were given the deadline of February 4 to submit NEET PG 2022 application form.
NEET PG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation is conducted by the National Board of Examinations for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses. The entrance test is conducted annually in computer-based mode. The test paper comprises 300 multiple choice questions and candidates are given 3 hours to answer them.
