The respondent's counsel informed the Apex Court that counselling for the third round had already concluded on January 4 to which the court denied conducting the fresh counselling if the counselling process for three rounds is over.Β 

NEET PG 2024 Latest News

The Supreme Court of India has rejected the plea seeking fresh NEET PG counselling 2024. The Apex Court is further going to hear a writ petition requesting steps to enhance transparency in the NEET PG exams, including the release of answer keys and question papers tomorrow, i.e. December 8, 2024. The court was scheduled to hear the NEET PG 2024 result transparency case today, January 7, 2025. Previously, the hearing was scheduled for December 10 but was postponed for the seventh time.Β 

The bench of Justices BR Gavai and AG Masih, Senior Advocate Sanjay Hedge raised concerns about the third round of counselling for the NEET-PG exam and requested an expedited hearing, as reported by Live Law.Β

During the hearing, the respondent's counsel informed the Court that counselling for the third round had already begun and was completed by January 4, 2025. Responding to this, the court mentioned that the matter shall be disposed of if the counselling process is over.Β 

Won't Order Fresh Counselling If Process is OverΒ 

Justice Gavai remarked that the Court would not be able to hear the case today as they were already engaged in another matter and instructed the counsel that the follow-up would be made tomorrow.

He added, "Just have someone mention the matter tomorrow. If counselling has concluded, we will dispose of the case. We won’t be ordering fresh counselling."

In the primary writ, the petitioners have requested SC to look into the matter and direct NBE to release NEET PG 2024 answer keys and question papers, along with other steps to enhance transparency.
