NEET PG Cutoff Reduction Challenged; The Supreme Court of India will hear the impact of the reduction of NEET PG Cutoff 2025-26 on April 28, as a bunch of petitioners filed a case against such reduction. The petitioners submitted to the SC that various candidates who cleared the NEET PG exam had good scores and the reduction of the NEET PG cutoff was not required.
Earlier, the Centre government submitted to the SC that a reduction in the NEET PG will not affect the standard in the Post Graduate medical education because the eligibility for NEET PG is the MBBS degree and the NEET PG is only a gateway to the Specialisation courses and it is not concerned with the academic course.
Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe said that they would hear the argument of the Centre in detail on whether such a reduction has its affect on the quality of education in Medical PG Courses.
Earlier, NEET PG 2025 Special Stray Round of Counselling was cancelled by the National Medical Commission and directed the State Counselling bodies that the NEET PG admission done after February 28, 2026, will be invalid.
