NEET PG 2025 New Exam Date: Supreme Court to Hear Petition on June 6
NEET PG exam, originally scheduled for June 15, has been postponed by NBE, owing to the Apex Court's direction to conduct the examination in a single shift and not to conduct NEET PG in a two-shift format.Β
NEET PG 2025 Revised Exam Date: The Supreme Court of India is expected to hear the petition concerning the announcement of revised NEET PG 2025 exam date by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) tomorrow, i.e. Friday, June 6, 2025.Β
The petition has been filed by NBE to conduct NEET PG 2025 on August 3, in a response to earlier direction by Supreme Court of India to conduct NEET PG in a single shift and not to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) in two-shift module. NBEMS has proposed August 3, 2025, as the new exam date of NEET PG 2025 and urged the Apex Court to conduct the hearing on this matter at the earliest. However, a final decision on the NEET PG revised exam date 2025 will follow the SC deliberation, as reported by Medical Dialogues.Β
NEET PG 2025 Postponed: SC Judgment AwaitedΒ
NBEMS has postponed the NEET PG 2025 exam owing to the Supreme Court's direction to conduct the examination in a single shift. The deferment of NEET PG 2025 was required for NBE to make arrangements for the exam centres.Β The doctors across the country were seeking clarity from the NBE regarding the NEET PG 2025 revised exam date. The Supreme Court has directed to conduct NEET PG in single shift in order to protect the interest of aspirants appearing for the examination.Β
"Holding the exam in two shifts leads to arbitrariness and cannot give a level playing field. The question papers in the two shifts can never be of the same difficulty level. Last year, it may have been held in two shifts in the facts and circumstances of that stage. But the examining body ought to have considered making arrangements for holding the examination in one shift," the Apex Court bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and NK Anjaria had observed.
Hence, in order to conduct the examination at the earliest with all the adequate arrangements on the exam date, the NBE moved to the Supreme Court seeking permission to conduct NEET PG 2025 on August 3.Β
