The National Testing Agency is likely to conduct the NEET UG 2026 exam on May 3. The agency has sent a tentative schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) to the Ministry of Education and seeks their confirmation on the NEET 2026 exam date, as reported by LiveHindustan. The media reports also highlight that NTA officials have prepared the exam calendar for NEET UG 2026 and have made the necessary requirements in advance to ensure the exam and academic session is completed on time.
NEET UG 2026: Registration Likely from February First Week
NTA is likely to begin NEET UG 2026 registration in the first week of February. Registration for the NEET exam will open in online mode for about one month. It is also expected that no changes in the NEET UG 2026 exam pattern will be introduced by NTA. The pattern will remain the same for the 2026 session examination. NTA will also give candidates the option to choose the examination city of their choice during the application process.
Will NEET be Conducted for Class 11 in the Upcoming Years?
The central government is planning to introduce major changes to the NEET entrance exams to help students depend less on private coaching centres. As per the media reports, a special committee from the Ministry of Education is considering conducting the NEET exam for class 11 students, limiting the coaching hours to 2-3 hours per day and connecting Board exam results with entrance exam scores in upcoming years.
