NEET UG 2026 Live Updates: Exam Timings, Dress Code, Permissible & Prohibited Items Guidelines by NTA

In a recent social media post, National Testing Agency has suggested not to completely rely on maps to reach the exam centre. NTA has found out that some exam centres, such as IIIT Pune shows wrong location. Hence, students must keep adequate time and before the reporting deadline in case they do not instantly find their exam centre. In such situation, students are suggested to ask location from local residents to be on a safer side. 

The National Testing Agency has issued NEET UG 2026 exam instructions for tomorrow. Since there are reports of thunderstorms in several parts of India, NTA has requested students to reach their exam centres early. In order to appear on time, NTA has also suggested keeping extra time for travel, considering the traffic. 

NTA NEET 2026 is a national-level medical entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing and other allied courses. Students must note that admission to MBBS and BDS is only offered through NEET exam scores. Appearing students must follow all official guidelines, including exam timing, dress code, and instructions on the exam day.

NTA has released the exam day guidelines and updates for NEET 2026 appearing students. As per the guidelines, students who wear religious attire must reach the exam centres one hour before the reporting time. The security team will conduct the identity checking for the student, and then they will be allowed to enter the exam hall.

The NTA NEET 2026 dress code highlights that candidates must wear light, comfortable attire. Clothes with large buttons, full sleeves, or heavy embroidery should be avoided. Following the dress code strictly is important, as failure to comply may lead to rejection of entry at the exam centre.

It is mandatory to carry the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam centre. Without it, candidates will not be allowed to appear for NEET UG 2026.

Students appearing for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses tomorrow have to carry their admit cards to the exam centres. Students must note that no student will be allowed to enter the exam hall without their hall tickets. Students also have to carry their valid ID proof along with admit cards. The admit card must be taken in coloured printout for easy access to the scanner code.

Students must note that NTA has released strict NEET UG 2026 exam day guidelines. In case any student is found carrying any prohibited item, then they will be disqualified from the exam centre. Hence, students must ensure they carry any of the following things to their exam centre: 

• Caps
• Sunglasses
• Jewellery
• Metallic item
• Any piece of paper (other than valid ID and admit card)
• Books or reading materials

NTA has released the official notification for dress code. Both male and female students who are appearing in the exam have to follow NTA NEET 2026 dress code on the exam day. Students must avoid clothes with large buttons, full sleeves, or heavy embroidery. Male students are suggested to wear tshirt and pant while female students can wear light suit, tshirt/ top and jeans to the exam centre. 

The National Testing Agency will conduct NEET UG 2026 exam on May 3, 2026. The exam will be held in pen and paper-based mode for admission in undergraduate-level medical, dental and BSc nursing courses in India. Students who will qualify this exam will be able to get admission in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and BSc Nursing courses.
