Supreme Court has dismissed a plea by Jammu and Kashmir government that a Kashmiri girl had taken a loan from the state government to study medicine at a community college in Bangladesh and later changed her college preference to Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College, Bangladesh.
J&K government's Advocate Taruna Prasad insisted the court for issuing notice in the case since there was a "breach of trust".
Justice DY Chandrachud said, "Yes mistake is there on her part, but we all have done mistakes in our youth."
Justice Surya Kant said, "We need to promote the youth of Kashmir by educating them and setting aside HC order will impact it negatively," as reported by Bar and Bench.
"If the appeal is allowed then loan resources to Kashmiri youth will be cancelled. Thus dismissed," said the court.
