In line with the aim of having one medical college in each district of the state, the DME Hyderabad submitted proposals for establishing government medical colleges in the Maheshwaram, Rangareddy district and Medak district. Telangana government has approved it with 100 MBBS seats each.

Telangana provides administrative sanctions for establilshing new GMCs at Rangareddy, Medak districts 

Telangana government, after careful examination, has provided administrative sanctions to the proposals of DME Hyderabad for the establishment of government medical colleges at the Maheshwaram, Rangareddy district and Medak district with students' intake capacities of 100 MBBS seats each.

The construction works of the college building are entrusted to the roads and buildings department and the works of government general hospital buildings and procurement of equipment and furniture are entrusted to TSMSIDC, Hyderabad. 

As per the government order, the Director of Medical Education, Hyderabad, Managing Director, TSMSIDC Hyderabad, Engineer-in-Chief, Roads and Buildings Department shall take necessary action in the matter accordingly.

The hospital attached to the medical college at Medak is transferred from the administrative control of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad to the Director of Medical Education.

Here are the new 8 medical colleges approved by state government adding to the existing medical colleges. In tune to the vision of #ArogyaTelangana these colleges will foster more opportunities for students to pursue medical education and further enhance healthcare services in districts,” reads a tweet by Harish Rao Thanneeru, Health Minister of Telangana.
