NEET 2022 exam date postpone request has been trending on social media since the exam announcement. An RTI has also been filed to seek details from NTA regarding the plans to postpone NEET 2022.

NEET 2022 date postpone is in the top of the minds of aspirants at the moment. They have been demanding the postponing of the exam at least by a month since the release of the exam notification by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Citing various reasons, they have taken to social media platforms such as Twitter to express their request for NEET 2022 exam date postpone at least by a month. The reopening of NEET UG 2021 counselling for an additional round has spurred the demand to a notch higher.

Hashtags such as #Postponeneetug2022 and #Rescheduleneet2022 have been trending on the microblogging site. Moreover, the media reports are also buzzing with NEET 2022 exam date postpone latest news and updates. However, NTA is yet to respond to these requests or state an official notice regarding their thoughts for bringing relief to candidates by stating that the NEET exam has been postponed.

Why Students Want NEET Exam Date 2022 Postponed

The latest and foremost reason why students are demanding NEET 2022 exam to be postponed is the reopening of the NEET 2021 counselling process, which will conclude on April 28. Students who are participating in this round and also plan to appear for NEET 2022 will be hardly left with three months for NEET preparation, which is not optimum to crack a highly competitive exam like this.

The other reasons for which students are demanding NEET 2022 exam postponement are summarised in the following tweet.

RTI Filed to Seek Status of NEET 2022 Exam Date Postpone

Amid the regular posting on social media with the demand for the NEET exam postpone, a student activist has filed an RTI to NTA seeking the status and plans.

NEET 2022 notification and application forms were released on April 6. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on July 17 in 557 cities across India and abroad. While the exam pattern and syllabus have remained the same, the duration has been increased by 20 minutes.

NEET 2022 on Scheduled Date: NTA Responds

In the RTI response, NTA has said, “The NEET (UG) 2022 exam is going to held on its scheduled date and time. However, the candidates are advised to remain updated on the website for the latest information.”

NTA, on the other hand, has not completely ruled out the possibility of the NEET 2022 date getting postponed. There are over two months left for the exam, which is slated to be conducted on July 14. In the RTI response, NTA has also added, “If any decision is taken by the higher authority, it will be informed through Public Notice on the official website.”

NEET 2022 aspirants have written to the President of India, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the ministry of education to demand the postponement of the examination to late August or early September citing the insufficient gap between the NEET Counselling 2021 and NEET 2022 exam and clash with other exams such as the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), and other state exams.

As per these aspirants, due to only three months left for preparation, many students are stressed and postponing the examination will make the students comfortable in giving the paper.
