No OPENMAT for IGNOU MBA January 2022 Admission

IGNOU is not conducting the OPENMAT exam for MBA admission January 2022 session. The admission shall be based on the eligibility conditions.

Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to AICTE approved MBA programmes in two sessions throughout the year. Candidates can either apply under the July session or under the January session. IGNOU has started the MBA admission under January 2022 session. The last date to complete the IGNOU MBA registration is set as January 31.

Earlier, candidates seeking MBA admission in the open university had to appear for an entrance exam, namely IGNOU OPENMAT. However, from the July 2021 session, IGNOU has decided to not conduct OPENMAT. The admission in MBA courses offered by the varsity is to be based on the candidate’s eligibility fulfilment.

Eligibility Criteria for IGNOU MBA Admission 2022 (January Cycle)

Unreserved category candidates who have obtained 50 per cent marks in their bachelor’s degree are eligible to fill the IGNOU 2022 MBA admission form. Candidates who belong to the reserved categories have a concession of five per cent; therefore, 45 per cent in a bachelor’s degree course is considered an eligible score for admission.

Candidates can complete the IGNOU MBA registration 2022 by following the steps mentioned below:

1. Open official website of IGNOU, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
2. Complete the one-time registration and generate login credentials
3. Enter personal details
4. Choose programme details
5. Fill academic information
6. Enter correspondence information
7. Upload necessary documents
8. Preview the filled-in form
9. Deposit the requisite application fee

Future of IGNOU OPENMAT for MBA Admission

IGNOU is yet to announce any details on continuing OPENMAT in the subsequent admission sessions. However, candidates are predicting that OPENMAT may be conducted in further admission sessions. The delays in the admission cycles due to COVID-19 is being blamed for the decision of no OPENMAT for IGNOU MBA admission.

The doubts relating to the future of IGNOU OPENMAT will be solved when the university releases the admission brochure for the July 2022 and January 2023 sessions.
