The father of the boy alleged that when he inquired about the incident at the school, Prince’s classmates told him that his teacher beat him with a cane.
A 12-year-old boy, who sustained head injuries after being thrashed by a teacher for failing in a class test died on Saturday. The boy, identified as Prince, was a class VI student enrolled in a school located in Greater Noida’s Badalpur region. According to media reports, the boy was denied admission in a few major hospitals. While corporal punishment is banned in schools its horror continues to haunt.
The father of the boy informed that it was a regular day, on October 7, he dropped Prince at a school. However, just before the school was about to get over, he got a call from the school informing his son had fallen unconscious.
Child denied admission due to bed crunch in hospitals
He then rushed his son to the nearby health clinic. After conducting some preliminary treatment, the hospital referred the child to the other hospital. When the family rushed to Safdarjung hospital, they did not admit the child due to the absence of beds. They went to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and then to GB Pant, but they too denied admitting the child citing the issue of bed crunch. As per the family, at last the child was admitted to LNJP Hospital. The boy was operated then. But the child died hours later.
Meanwhile, his father alleged that when he inquired about the incident at the school, Prince’s classmates told him that his teacher beat him with a cane. He said that his son had injury marks on his chest, thighs, shoulder, back and even on his thighs.
The child was hit on the hands with a stick thrice. After being hit, he fell down and started vomiting and later got unconscious in the classroom.
