NSUI stage protest demanding additional attempt for JEE 2022 exam

The National Students Union of India NSUI staged a protest outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office demanding another attempt for students who faced technical glitches while appearing for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2022 earlier. Though NTA has released the answer keys for JEE Mains Session 2 and has asked candidates to raise objections in case they have, many of the candidates are still protesting for an extra attempt.

On August 4, Roshan Kumar, General Secretary, Bihar AISU (All India Students' Union) wrote to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The letter listed the problems faced by the students and why they have been requesting another attempt.

As per media report, some students in Maharashtra said that during the examination, there was a power cut at the centre and around 40 minutes were wasted because of the issue with servers. The students even flooded Twitter to highlight the issue. #JEEMainsThirdAttemptForAll and #JEEMains2022ExtraAttempt were trending on the social media platform. Some of the users even highlighted the glitches in the result declared by the agency.

IIT Bombay will release JEE Advanced 2022 answer key on September 3. The JEE Advanced answer key release time is 10 am.  Feedback and comments on provisional answer keys from the candidates from September 3 to 4. The final JEE Advanced answer key will then release on September 11. JEE Advanced 2022 exam was held on August 28. The exam was held in CBT mode. The number of candidates registering for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Advanced after clearing the JEE Main saw a gradual drop from 83.1 per cent in 2014 to 58.1 per cent in 2021.
