Odisha UG Admissions 2022 rescheduled due to heavy rains, check new dates here
The Odisha Higher Education Department has announced that it has rescheduled the deadlines for admission to Under Graduate (UG) courses or into the Plus 3-degree courses. The decision to reschedule the examination has been taken in view of the flood situation.
As per the notice issued by the Higher Education Department, the admission as per the first and the second selection will start on September 7 and September 16, respectively. Earlier, the last date of applying online Common Application Form (CAF) through the official website was August 25. Now, students can submit duly filled in applications latest by September 1.
Candidates must note that the common application form is already available on the official website of the Students Academic Management System (SAMS). The admission of students as per the ‘First Selection’ will now be conducted from September 7 to 11. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted from September 2 to 5.
Similarly for the ‘Second Selection’, which was earlier scheduled to be from September 12 to 14, will begin from September 16 to 19. Besides, the Spot Selection been scheduled on September 21 instead of September 19, as the notification stated.
The flood situation remained grim in Odisha, where over 9 lakh people have been affected. The floods have affected 9.6 lakh people and displaced thousands from their homes in Odisha, with rain disrupting electricity and water supply and damaging road infrastructure. The state has evacuated 1,20,000 people until now from the affected areas. Owing to the heavy rains, the government had also announced the closure of schools and colleges in the state.
