More than one crore school students in Rajasthan created a world record by singing patriotic songs under the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' campaign. School students from different districts across the state sang patriotic songs together between 10.15 am to 10.40 am to mark the 75th Independence Day.

The event took place at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The event was attended by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. Songs like ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Sare Jahaan Se Acha’, 'Hum Honge Kamyab' and the national anthem were sung by the students for around 25 minutes to set the record.

While addressing students at the Sawai Mansingh (SMS) stadium, state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot congratulated the students for their achievements. "I am happy that the World Book of Records, London, which is a prestigious institution, listened to the songs sung by one-crore students and presented a certificate to the state government,” he said.

During this, while addressing the children, Gehlot said that "when the country became independent. Then needles also had to be brought from outside in the country. What is not in the country today? There are reputed institutes like IITs, IIMs, AIIMS and ISRO in the country. He said that there have been great achievements in the journey of 75 years of independence. The saga of achievements is very long, they cannot be forgotten. Not only the country but the world also accept iron for these successes."

Giving the example of Pakistan, Gehlot said that there was the repeated rule of soldiers there but in our country, the Prime Minister kept on moving. Governments changed but democracy remained.
