Bihar TET Certificate validity extended to lifetime

Following the extension of TET certificate validity by the NCTE, the Bihar TET (BTET) certificate validity has now been extended for life.

The Bihar Education Department has extended the validity of the Bihar TET (BTET) certificate from 7 years to lifetime, as per the media reports. The BTET certificate validity extension is effective from 2012. The move comes after the National Council for Teacher Education on June 9, 2021 officially amended the TET Guidelines of 2011 to extend the certificate validity of TET exams to lifetime.

The Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (BTET) is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 8 in Bihar schools.

Candidates who have already qualified the BTET exam or will be qualifying the exam in future will now be eligible to apply for the teacher recruitment in Bihar, subject to other eligibility conditions mentioned in the respective appointment rules.

Earlier on June 3, 2021, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' announced the extension of TET certificate validity from 7 years to a lifetime.
