Amid the nationwide lockdown to combat the COVID-19 spread in India, The West Bengal Public Service Commission decided to postpone ‘all written examinations, interviews and personality tests until further notification’. The Commission took this decision after the directions for enforcement of complete safety restrictions came from the state government.

To confirm the postponement of all written examinations, interviews and personality tests, the Public Service Commission of West Bengal (WBPSC) released an official notice that states, ‘In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 and direction of the State Govt. for enforcement of complete safety restriction, Commission has decided to postpone all Written Examinations, Interviews and personality tests until further notification. Candidates are requested to follow the commission’s website https://wbpsc.gov.in for further updates.’

Candidates who were supposed to appear for the commission’s examinations are requested to follow the commission’s official website to get all the upcoming updates related to fresh schedules and postponements.

Earlier, On March 20, the Public Service Commission released a notice stating the postponement of all examinations scheduled from March 21 to April 5 as a precautionary measure against the contagious disease. The postponement is now further extended due to the lockdown in the country.

On March 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the nationwide lockdown in India in order to control the novel coronavirus spread. The PM urged people to stay inside and advised everyone to practice social distancing. As of now, research leaders have not come up with any vaccine against the virus. Social distancing is considered as the best method to prevent the COVID-19 spread.
