CTET Certificate validity extended to lifetime

The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' recently on June 3, 2021 extended the validity of CTET and TET certificates from 7 years to lifetime. The NCTE has also notified the same on June 9, 2021. The extension of the CTET certificate validity is effective from February 2011 onwards. The respective States/UTs need to take necessary action to revalidate the certificates of candidates whose 7 years validity has expired.

Candidates who had already qualified the CTET exam and could not apply for the teacher recruitment due to a lapse of their CTET certificate validity of 7 years will now not be required to appear again for the exam. Such candidates can apply for the teacher recruitment process through their old CTET certificates.
