UPSC has deferred the IES main 2020 exam scheduled on August 9. Union Public Service Commission has postponed the Engineering Services 2020(main) exam to a future date through a one-line notice. The UPSC IES 2020 exam is postponed for the second time.
In the original UPSC exam calendar 2020, the IES 2020 main exam was scheduled to be conducted on June 28, 2020 but because of the coronavirus pandemic across the nation, UPSC deferred it to August 9. But in the new notice, UPSC has further postponed it to a future date which will be notified later.

UPSC IES exam is a three-phase exam and the main exam is followed by the IES interviews. The marks secured in the IES prelims and main exam are considered for the final IES result. The IES main exam is conducted offline in pen and paper mode. It comprises two subjective papers of the engineering opted by the candidates. The total marks of the IES main exam is six hundred and the candidates need to score maximum to get selected in the IES exam and beat the IES cut off.

The IES main exam will now be conducted on a future date and it implies that the whole exam process of IES exam will be delayed as it will consequently push the IES interviews.
