NCTE issues notice amending the TET Guidelines of 2011 to extend the certificate validity of TET exams to lifetime.
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) issued an official notice dated June 9, 2021 to amend the TET Guidelines of 2011 for extension of certificate validity to lifetime. The development comes following the decision of the 50th General Body Meeting of the NCTE and the Ministry of Education to extend the TET Certificate validity from 7 years to lifetime.
In a notice addressed to all the Secretaries and Commissioners of Education of state governments/UTs, NCTE replaces the validity period of the TET certificate from ‘seven years’ to ‘valid for life’ in the TET guidelines dated February 11, 2011. Have a look at the notice below:
Earlier on June 3, 2021, the Union Education Ministry announced the extension of the certificate validity of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) from 7 years to lifetime with effect from 2011. The Ministry also asked the respective States and UTs to take necessary action to issue fresh TET certificates or revalidate old ones of those candidates whose 7 years certificate validity has already expired.
