RRB has conducted Group D CBT exam between November 27, 2025 and February 10, 2026 to shortlist candidates for 32438 Level 1 vacancies in Indian Railways. Later, RRB Group D answer key was released on February 17, 2026 and now result date is awaited.

As per court proceedings held on March 26, 2026, High Court has directed that RRB Group D results should not be announced until next hearing scheduled on April 15, 2026. This decision has created uncertainty among candidates who appeared for exams conducted between November 2025 and February 2026.

If this matter is resolved in next hearing on April 15, RRB Group D result 2026 may be declared between April 20 and 25, 2026. However, if this case is delayed, result announcement for RRB Group D may shift to May 2026.Â
RRB Group D Result Date 2026: Why Did Court Intervene?
This stay comes after objections raised by Apprentice candidates regarding changes in marking and selection rules introduced in 2022 by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Earlier:
- CCA candidates were exempted from Physical Efficiency Test
- Marks from theory and practical exams were combined equally
Under new rules:
- More weight is given to practical marks
- NCVT/ITI candidates are exempted from apprenticeship exams
Petitioners have alleged
- Lack of transparency in practical exam marking
- Unfair changes in evaluation criteria
- Demand to restore earlier policy system
Court has also asked for clarification regarding the authority of Directorate General of Training in framing recruitment related policies. This issue has become a major point of dispute in case.
RRB Group D Selection and Ongoing Disputes
As per current system
- Final merit is prepared using a 2:1 ratio of CBT scores and apprenticeship performance
- Apprentices get 20% horizontal reservation
This case is also linked to an earlier dispute over 10th/ITI qualifications, which had already delayed RRB recruitment process by nearly a year.
