The Odisha government has announced relaxation of mandatory seven-day home quarantine norms for candidates coming from Chhattisgarh. This comes as a major relief for candidates appearing in RRB NTPC 2020 fifth phase CBT 1.

Candidates with a valid ID proof and a copy of RRB NTPC admit card will be exempted from the home quarantine requirement. But strict COVID-19 norms and guidelines such as wearing face mask, maintaining social distancing, etc should be followed by all candidates appearing in the exam. The fifth phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam is being conducted from March 4 to 27, 2021.

The decision to relax the seven-day home quarantine norms came after the Chairman of Railway Recruitment Board, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh informed that around 10,500 candidates are scheduled to appear for examinations at Bhubaneswar.

Earlier, keeping in view the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in some states, Odisha government had issued directions to district authorities to ensure that people arriving from the five high-risk states-Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh complete seven-day home isolation upon their arrival.

In the fourth phase of CBT 1 exam, some of the candidates from Kerala were allotted RRB NTPC exam centres in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. However, Karnataka Government in the notice vide - HFW 52 ACS 2021 dated February 16, 2021 and Tamil Nadu Government vide GO (Ms) No-88 dated February 24, 2021 have notified certain travel measures for people arriving from Kerala.

In this respect, queries were received from some of the affected candidates requesting to reschedule their exams due to travel restrictions. Therefore, RRBs have decided to reschedule the exams of the affected candidates from Kerala whose exams were scheduled in Karnataka from February 16 and in Tamil Nadu from February 24. All affected candidates who wish to have their exams rescheduled should register and submit their requests through helpdesk link on or before March 5, 2021.
