SSC has postponed the CBT exam for GD, CAPFs, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, SSF and related posts in mid February 2026. Earlier it was expected to start on Feb 23, 2026. Candidates are eagerly waiting for the new date to be announced soon. 

Staff Selection Commission has earlier postponed the Computer-Based Test for the Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and related posts (CEN for 25,487 vacancies). The exam is deferred till further notice.

The exam was earlier scheduled for February 23, 2026, but got postponed due to administrative reasons. No official date is confirmed now. Once the dates are announced, the Commission will release the City Intimation Slip about 8–10 days  before the exam.

Around 35 lakh candidates have submitted their applications for the exam. Candidates are worried due to the postponement, some are suspecting that exam can get cancelled. However, it is not cancelled and only postponed till further announcement.

SSC GD 2026 Exam Date: More Details

This time even the self slot booking facility, where candidates chose their preferred date and shift, has been cancelled. The admit card will be available around 4 days prior to the exam date.

While the announcement is awaited regarding the exam date, candidates are advised to regularly visit official website ssc.gov.in for latest updates. They should also focus on their preparation so that they can utilize this time for better preparation. Candidates should also keep all essential documents ready such as ID, photograph, and registration details.

There will be four parts in the exam - Part A is General Intelligence and Reasoning, Part B is General Knowledge and General Awareness, Part C is Elementary Mathematics, and Part D is English/Hindi.
