Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced SSC Stenographer 2019 exam dates for skill test. The exam will be conducted on October 21 and 22. Based on the marks scored in the computer-based exam, candidates are selected to appear for skill test.
It is mandatory to appear in the Skill test of SSC Stenographer and it is qualifying in nature. SSC decides category-wise SSC Stenographer cutoff marks for the skill test for each post. Candidates who qualify the skill test are considered for final selection on the basis of their merit in the computer-based exam.
The Skill Test is held at the commission’s regional/sub-regional offices or at the centres decided by SSC.
What is the pattern of skill test?
In skill test, candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted in the online application form) at the speed of 100 word per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m for the post of Stenographer Grade D. Candidates need to write the matter in computer. The time of the test is given below:

Candidates who opt to take the stenography test in Hindi will have to learn English stenography and vice versa after their appointment. They will have to work as English/Hindi stenographers in the user office respective of the medium of skill test candidates opted for during the exam.
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts SSC Stenographer exam every year for recruitment of Stenographer Grade C (Group B Non-Gazetted) and Grade D (Group C) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organisations.
