UGC NET 2021 Application reopens, NTA merges Dec 2020 & June 2021 cycles, check exam date
UGC NET application 2021 has been reopened by the NTA for the combined December 2020 and June 2021 cycles. The UGC NET exam for both cycles will be conducted together in CBT mode.
National Testing Agency (NTA) has merged both UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles so that they be conducted together in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The decision has been taken to regularize the UGC NET exam cycles that have been impacted in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the postponement of the UGC NET May 2021 (December 2020 cycle) exam, the schedule of the June 2021 UGC NET exam also got delayed.
The NTA has reopened the UGC NET 2021 application process for the merged December 2020-June 2021 cycles. Eligible candidates who want to gain eligibility for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts can apply online now for the UGC NET exam.

The slots of the UGC NET exam for JRFs of both December 2020 and June 2021 cycles will be merged. However, the methodology for Subject-wise and Category-wise allocation of JRFs will remain unchanged.
Who can apply for UGC NET 2021?
The UGC NET application process has been reopened for the following category candidates:
- New applicants who want to appear for the UGC NET exam
- Candidates who registered for UGC NET December 2020 cycle but were unable to complete the application process

How to fill UGC NET Application Form 2021?
Candidates can fill the UGC NET application form by following the given steps:
Step 1: Visit the website- ugcnet.nta.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the ‘Application form UGC NET Dec 2020 & June 2021 cycles’ link
Step 3: Click on the ‘New Registration’
Step 4: Enter the required details and complete the registration
Step 5: Fill the complete application form
Step 6: Upload scanned pictures of passport size photo (10-200 kb) and signature (4-30 kb). Both the images should be in JPEG format
Step 7: Pay the UGC NET application fee (Gen - Rs 1000; OBC/EWS - Rs 500; SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender - Rs 250)
Step 8: Save and submit the form
Step 9: Download the confirmation page
