UGC NET Date 2023: University Grants Commission chairman M Jagadesh Kumar announced the UGC NET December exam Date through his social media handle on September 19, 2023. The UGC NET December exam will be carried out between December 6 to 22, 2023 for 83 subjects.

The  National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the notification and application form for the UGC NET exam in the month of September/October 2023. The UGC NET notification will comprise all the details related to the UGC NET exam like application date, fees, application correction date, syllabus, pattern, eligibility, and more.

Earlier, the UGC NET June cycle was conducted in two phases from June 13 to 22, 2023. The first phase was conducted between June 13 to 17, 2023 for 14 subjects in two shifts, whereas, Phase 2 was conducted between June 19 to 22, 2023 for the remaining 73 subjects in two shifts. A total of 4.63 lakh candidates appeared for the UGC NET June 2023 cycle

Q:   When will the UGC NET December notification be released?

A:

The UGC NET notification for the December cycle is yet to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The UGC NET December cycle is expected to be carried out in the month of December 2023. Following the trends of the UGC NET exam we can expect the UGC NET 2023 notification in the month of September/October 2023. The NTA will release the the official notification on the official website. The candidates will be able to access the UGC NET notification by following the steps given below:

After the release of the application form the candidates need to register for the UGC NET exam. The candidates need their scanned copy of photo identity card, a recent photograph, and signature for the registration. The size of the photograph should be more than equal to 20 kb but less than 200 kb and the size of the signature should be more than equal to 4 kb but less than 30kb.

Q:   What is the exam shift timing for UGC NET exam?

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) provides 541 exam centres across India in several districts for the candidates. The application for the UGC NET December cycle exam application will be released in the month of September/October 2023. UGC NET 2023 exam for the June cycle was carried out between June 13 to 22, 2023. The exam was conducted online CBT mode and comprises two papers-1 and 2. The duration of the test was three hours. Paper 1 carried 50 questions and Paper 2 carried 100 questions. There were no negative marking for wrong answers. The language of the question paper was English and Hindi. The questions in the exam are generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It was primarily designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate. Q:   Who announces the UGC NET 2023 exam dates?

The National Testing Agency NTA announces the exam dates and schedule of the UGC NET examination for all papers and subjects on behalf of UGC. The NTA started conducting the UGC NET exam from December 2018. Earlier, the UGC NET exam was conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). Currently, the exam is being conducted twice a year in the months of June and December. The two cycles are announced separately for the candidates every year. UGC NET 2023 Certificate Date

The UGC NET certificate was released on the official website of the UGC NET on July 25 25, 2023. The e-certificate was released for the June 2023 cycle exam conducted between June 13 to 22, 2023. Q:   What is the validity of UGC NET certificate?

UGC NET eligibility Certificate for Assistant Professor is valid for a lifetime. However, the UGC NET JRF award letter is valid for three years from the date of issuance. The candidates who will qualify for the NET exam will become eligible to teach in the Indian universities and colleges as an assistant professor. The candidates who will qualify for the UGC JRF exam will become eligible for the Ph.D. research that will be funded by the Indian government and also for the assistant professorship.

NTA released the UGC NET result on July 25 2023, for the June Cycle. The UGC NET results was released along with the release of the UGC NET 2023 cut off. A:
No rank is assigned in the UGC NET exam. The candidates have to cross the cut off of the UGC NET/ JRF exam according to their category. The candidates who qualifies for the NET exam becomes eligible for being assistant professor in Indian colleges and Universities. However, the candidates who qualify for the JRF (Junior research Fellowship) gets the sum to complete their research in specific subject and becomes eligible to become assistant professors as well. The cutoff for JRF is higher than the cut off of NET exam.

UGC NET 2023 Shift Timings

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts. UGC NET Shift 1 starts from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm whereas the shift 2 exam is carried out from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. However, the candidates must report to the UGC NET exam centre at least 30 minutes before the gate closing time.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who are going to appear for the UGC NET exam must go through the eligibility criteria for the UGC NET/JRF exam. Candidates who want to appear for the UGC NET exam must have a Master's degree or its equivalent from a recognized university with at least 55% marks. However, As per UGC NET Eligibility, the minimum percentage required for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates is 50%. So, these candidates can give  UGC Net.
