UPSC issued an important notice regarding the IAS 2021 and IFoS exam dates. Read further for details.

UPSC issued a notice that IAS 2021 prelims exam will be conducted as per the exam schedule published in the UPSC calendar 2021. The Union Public Service Commission in a one-line notice said that the IAS 2021 prelims and IFoS prelims 2021 will be conducted on time as per the schedule. The UPSC will issue the Civil Service (IAS) 2021 notification in due course of time.

The UPSC 2021 notification was scheduled to be released on February 10 but because of the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) pending in Supreme Court. The SC directed the Centre and UPSC to not to publish the Civil Service (IAS) 2021 notification till the outcome of the petition. During the hearing of PIL, the Centre and UPSC agreed to provide an extra attempt to the candidates who fulfil the age criteria.

The UPSC IAS and IFoS prelims are scheduled to be conducted on June 27. The UPSC in a one-line notice reiterated that the IAS Prelims 2021 will be conducted on time. The UPSC will issue the IAS 2021 notification and IFoS notification soon after the SC decision.

The SC decision will have the repercussions in the eligibility criteria defined in the UPSC 2021 notification. The UPSC need time to incorporate the decision pronounced by the Supreme Court in the official notification without changing the provisions of the SC decision.

The IAS and IFoS prelims exam are conducted jointly and the main exam is conducted separately.
