The Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC Civil Service (IAS) notification 2026 on January 14. The Commission will provide 20 days for the application filling process. The last date for the UPSC IAS applications is February 3. The Commission will mention the number of vacancies, eligibility, number of attempts, syllabus, exam pattern and all the legalities of the exam. 

The UPSC IAS exam dates 2026 are required for preparation strategy. The UPSC IAS application correction dates will be released in the official notification. The Commission will conduct the UPSC IAS 2026 exam on May 24.

The UPSC is conducting the IAS interviews 2025 in phases. The second phase of interviews will be conducted tilll February 26, 2026, ath UPSC Bhawan, New Delhi. The interviews were started on December 8, 2025.

Q:   Can a candidate appeal against the UPSC result?
A: 
The candidate can appeal against the UPSC result but it would be very difficult that the candidate can win against UPSC because the procedure followed by the UPSC is very transparent and the same is submitted in the Courts when asked for by the court. The candidates can win only if they secure more than their category cutoff but still, they were declared failed in the UPSC result.

UPSC IAS Result 2025 Expected Dates

The Union Public Service Commission is expected to release the Civil Service (IAS) result in April 2026. The Commission will release the names and the roll number of the UPSC Toppers. The Union Public Service Commission released the Civil Service (IAS) main exam result 2025 on November 11. The IAS interviews are commencing from December 8. It is expected that the UPSC personality test will be conducted till March/April 2026.

Q:   What is the duration of IAS prelims exam?

The IAS prelims exam is conducted offline in a pen and paper mode. The IAS prelims exam is conducted in two shifts on a single day.  The candidates are required to appear in both the papers and clear both of them. The IAS prelims result is prepared based on the marks scored in the General Studies paper 1. The IAS prelims General Studies paper 2 is qualifying only.

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the IAS 2026 exam on May 24, 2026. The Commission is expected to release the IAS admit card online in the last week of April 2026.

Q:   How many times IAS exam is conducted in a year?

The Union Public Service Commission conduct the Civil Service Exam once in a year. The Commission releases the IAS notification in February. IAS prelims and main exam is conducted once every year. The IAS prelims exam is conducted on the  last Sunday of May and the main exam starts on  third Friday of September. The candidates who clear the prelims exam are allowed to appear in the main exam. The UPSC also releases the result of all the stages of the exam once in a year.

The IAS 2024 prelims exam will be conducted in May 26, 2024.
