Apply for Young scientist programme at Raja Ramanna centre

For Young Scientist Programme, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) has invited applications. The programme is scheduled to take place from May 11 to July 3. RRCAT is an eminent unit of Department of Atomic Energy. The department is involved in Research & Development activities in front line research areas of Laser science, Accelerator science, related technologies and applications.

According to an official notification, the centre stated that in order to provide exposure to young students to these frontiers in science and technology, the Centre offers a Young Scientist Research Programme during the summer each year. To apply for the Young Scientist Research Programme, those students are eligible who are at present in the third year of B.E./B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Metallurgy/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Engineering Physics/ Mechanical Engineering), first year of M.Sc. (Physics), or in the fourth year of Integrated M.Sc. (Physics).

The notification also states that on successful completion of YSRP programme, selected candidates would be paid round-trip conveyance by second class (sleeper) and an overall stipend of Rs 5000. Apart from this, free accommodation would be offered at the RRCAT Guest House. This is a brilliant opportunity for those students who had been looking for opportunities since their school days. The programme would provide exposure to requisite acumen for a scientist. Apart from this, it would be helpful for those who have been looking to gain some scientific know-how of several domains.
