As per the records, a total of 2,65,248 candidates appeared in three shifts including 87,879 in shift 1, 87,903 in shift 2, and 89,466 in the third shift. CUET UG 2023: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 day 1 recorded a 76 per cent attendance, the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chief M Jagadesh Kumar announced. As per the records, a total of 2,65,248 candidates appeared in three shifts including 87,879 in shift 1, 87,903 in shift 2, and 89,466 in the third shift. The UGC further informed that CUET UG 2023 Admit Cards for exams from May 25 to May 28 will be released by May 22. CUET UG City Intimation Slips 2023 for exams from May 29 to June 2 will be out on May 23.
The UGC Chairman further said that in 2 per cent of centers (approximately 12 out of 450 today) due to some technical glitches, because of which there was a delay in the commencement of the CUET 2023 exam but it was successfully completed. He further informed that the exam started late due to issues such as power fluctuations in some centers and crowding of students at others.
He further mentioned in the CUET UG 2023 Admit Cards to do the entry at the center in a staggered manner.
βBut in a few centers, since they came late, there was crowding and subsequent delay in the start of the exam. We request the students to come staggered to avoid this kind of situation. We have now taken administrative measures to prevent such situations in the future. In many cities, we have also taken help from the traffic police to minimize traffic jams around the centers,β Kumar added.
UGC Chief further added that the aspirants were provided basic amenities like water, refreshments, and covered shelters or waiting for areas for their parents or guardians at the exam centers.
