IIT JAM Registration 2026

IIT JAM Registration 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will conduct the Joint Admission Test for Master's (JAM) for the session 2026 on February 15, 2026. The IIT JAM 2026 registration process will begin on September 5, 2025, through the official JOAPS portal. Students who are seeking admission to M.Sc. and Integrated M.Sc.–PhD programmes at IITs and IISc must complete the JAM 2026 online registration in online mode from jam2026.iitb.ac.in.

Students must ensure they are eligible as per the IIT JAM 2026 eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill the application form. Students must be mindful that the IIT JAM 2026 application form will only be available in online mode. For the convenience of the students, provided below is the IIT JAM 2026 official website link.

The IIT JAM 2026 exam will be held in a computer-based test (CBT) in seven test papers, namely Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA),  Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH), in over 100 cities across India.

Q:   When is the last date for IIT JAM 2026 online registration form?
A:

The last date for filling up the online application form for MSc courses was October 12, 2025 but it has been extended till October 20. Candidates qualifying in JAM 2026 are eligible to apply for admission to around 3000 seats in IITs for the academic year 2026-26. No additional evaluation process, such as suitability test or interview is required for admission to the programmes in Admitting Institutes under JAM 2026.

IIT JAM 2026 for the academic session 2026-2027 will be conducted by IIT Delhi, the examination conducting body on February 15,  2026. Aspirants who had already completed an undergraduate degree (BSc) or are currently studying in the final year of undergraduate programmes are eligible to apply for the exam. 

Q:   How to select examination centres upon filling IIT JAM application form?
A:

JAM 2026 Examination will be conducted in eight zones. The names of these eight zones with the list of zone-wise Examination Cities are listen on JAM 2026 exam centres (Probable Examination cities of JAM 2026). Candidates must specify their first, second and third choice of cities at the time of applying for JAM 2026. When the choice of first city is made, then the zone gets determined and the candidates will be able to choose the second and third choice city only from the same zone.

In case, any city in the choices is not allotted due to operational reasons, alternate city will be allotted. Candidates are requested to regularly check JAM 2026 website for updates regarding examination cities, if any.
