IPU orphan quota will include one additional seat in each university school and programme with 100% fee waiver under the Indraprastha University EWS scheme from the session 2025-26.
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IPU) is set to introduce an orphan child quota from the session 2025-26. The orphan quota of IP University will be applicable in its various programmes in addition to its single girl child quota applicable since last year. The IP University orphan quota will be applicable to all programmes and will be active at all university schools. The initiative aims to offer extended financial support to cater to the academics of disadvantaged groups, following the introduction of a single girl child quota introduced last year, as reported by the Indian Express.
Reportedly, the Vice Chancellor of the university has mentioned that the university aims to provide education to all students, including children who have lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic or for any other reason. The university will offer financial assistance to the students under several other government schemes.
IPU Orphan Quota: Full Fee Waiver and Support
The orphan quota under the IPU quota will offer an additional seat in each university school and course for an orphan applicant. As a part of this programme, the students will benefit from a full tuition fee waiver as a part of IPU's Economically Weaker Section (EWS ) scheme for students who have been affected due to the global pandemic or other circumstances. The university's Academic Council, which has approved this quota, will offer detailed implementation guidelines on the IPU website soon.
As per the IP University 2023 brochure, the duration of all the MCA courses is two-year. The course is further divided into semester pattern. There are four semesters during the course. The syllabus might also be defined semester-wise. Candidates have to pass all the semester exams in order to get a MCA degree from IPU.
