RRI Bengaluru phd admission form 2025 is available at rri.res.in till May 9, 2025, for candidates willing to pursue research in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Light and Matter Physics, Soft Condensed Matter Physics and Theoretical Physics and other fields of research at the institute.
Raman Research Institute (RRI) is inviting applications for PhD programmes for the academic session 2025. Students who are interested in RRI PhD admission 2025 can fill the application form in online mode by May 9, 2025. The authorities are inviting applications for several specialisations, including Astronomy and Astrophysics, Light and Matter Physics, Soft Condensed Matter Physics and Theoretical Physics. RRI students who are pursuing a PhD will get their degrees registered at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. RRI also participates in the Joint Astronomy Programme (JAP) with the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
Apart from the regular RRI PhD admission 2025, the authorities also offer the External Registration Programme (ERP) for admission to the PhD programme. The ERP aims to provide academic opportunities to individuals employed in R&D environments in the government sector, as well as Young Engineering/ Science faculty members of all Engineering colleges/ Universities recognised by appropriate government agencies to pursue a research degree in Science/ Engineering.
The PhD students will get a scholarship of INR 37,000 per month for the first two years and INR 42,000 per month for the next three years, subject to the qualification of the PhD guidelines of the institute. Further, a book grant of INR 50,000 for five years will be provided to the students.
