The decision on closure of schools and colleges has been taken due to a warning of severe heavy rain. The same has been confirmed by the Tirupathur District Collector.
As the warning of heavy rainfall has been released by the Indian Meteorological Department in many parts of the country, today, October 11, 2022, the Tamil Nadu schools and colleges in the district has been informed to be closed. The decision on closure has been taken due to a warning of severe heavy rain. The same has been confirmed by the Tirupathur District Collector.
The schools and colleges have been declared holiday until further notice. As per an ANI tweet, "Tirupathur District Collector has declared a holiday for schools & colleges in the district today due to a heavy rain warning. Heavy rain is also expected to occur over Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, Theni, Madurai, Karur, Erode, Namakkal, Salem districts of the state." the tweet read
Meanwhile, several districts of Uttar Pradesh including Gorakhpur, Lucknow, etc. witnessed incessant rainfall which also led to damage of crops. Cities like Madhya Pradesh and Telangana have also been issued alerts regarding heavy rainfall for a few days.
Similarly, schools in Lucknow have been shut due to severe spell of heavy rains. Schools in Aligarh are shut from October 9, 2022, until October 12, 2022. In Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, Kanpur, Meerut which are cities in Uttar Pradesh schools were ordered to be shut for October 10 after the cities witnessed a huge spell of rainfall and were also issued alert. A warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for Parts of Delhi-NCR as well. The schools were shut for both private and government schools.
Students are requested to wait for further notice from the District management regarding the opening of schools.
