Tamil Nadu schools likely to reopen from Jan 3
Tamil Nadu School students must note that a copy of the official order on school reopening is yet to be received.
TN School Reopening: Fresh cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in Tamil Nadu Schools recently. Considering that the situation is being controlled by the government, it has now come to light that educational institutions will resume offline lectures soon. According to reports, Tamil Nadu schools are likely to reopen for Classes 6 to 12 from January 3, 2022. Tamil Nadu School students must note that a copy of the official order on school reopening is yet to be received.
However, it is expected that the resumption of offline classes in schools will take place soon.
Some reports even suggest that the decision has been taken after a COVID-19 review meeting was held under Chief Minister MK Stalin. After assessing the learning loss faced by many students, the authority decided to reopen schools in the meeting.
As mentioned before, even though official guidelines on TN Schools reopening are awaited, it is likely that the authority would not make attendance compulsory. Schools would continue to impart education via online mode as well for the students not able to attend offline classes. A major reason for this is that many students in this age group are not yet eligible for vaccination.
Strict COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed in schools of Tamil Nadu, even if some students of classes 6 to 12 opt for hybrid mode. Once an official confirmation is received, it is likely that the government would issue new guidelines and SOPs on reopening as well for the safety of students and other stakeholders.
