Australian Education Minister Jason Clare said the National Education Policy will take India on the path of becoming one of the greatest economic superpowers of the world. Clare is on a visit to India from February 28 to March 3. He is leading a delegation of Australian higher education leaders to promote institutional partnerships and boost collaboration between the two countries.

Two Australian universities will soon establish campuses in the GIFT CITY of Gujarat: Education Minister

Australian delegation led by Education Minister Jason Clare held a high level meeting with the Indian delegation led by Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan, and participated in student engagement programmes. Both sides held discussions to take their partnership in the education sector forward in areas of school, higher and vocational education. They discussed ways to deepen engagements to empower youth in both the countries and make education & skills sector more vibrant. The two Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhance institutional collaboration and two-way mobility by exploring the delivery of transnational education in the higher education, skills and research sectors.

"The National Education Policy (NEP) is nation changing (policy). It will transform India and skill up its younger generation. It will also set the country on the path of becoming one of the greatest economic superpowers of the world," he said, the ministry press release stated.

Talking about his visit, he noted that both India and Australia will sign an agreement on Thursday; i.e. March 2, 2023 for mutual recognition of university degrees of the two countries for making it easier for students studying in one country to get their degrees recognised in the other.

"There will be 10 agreements between Indian and Australian universities which will help in building a great partnership. At present, Australian universities offer courses. We are moving from providing courses to establishing campuses," he added.
