UGC releases draft guidelines to empanel local artists in residence in HEIs
UGC in its official notification said, "Art forms are an integral part of Human Civilization. The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) emphasises bridging the gap between higher education and arts (Kala)."
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the draft guidelines to empanel local artists or artisans as artist(s) in residence in higher educational institutions. UGC in its official notification said, "Art forms are an integral part of Human Civilization. The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) emphasises bridging the gap between higher education and arts (Kala)."
Accordingly, the UGC has prepared Guidelines to empanel Local Artists/Artisans as Artist(s)-in-Residence in Higher Educational institutions. The guidelines provide for Higher Educational institutions (HEls) to harness the creative talent and intellectual resources available within the country that are not formally connected to the higher education system in view to enhance, strengthen and improve the quality of teaching training and research.
The draft Guidelines to empanel Local Artists/Artisans as Artist(s)- in-Residence in Higher Educational institutions are available on the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in. Feedbacusuggestions are invited from the stakeholders and the same may be sent to uoc.localartist@omail.com latest by March 31, 2023.
