The committee has now given approval for the setting up two private universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The universities that will be set up in Uttar Pradesh are JBM Global University in Gautam Budh Nagar, a part of Delhi-NCR and the second university named Saroj International University in Lucknow.

The Uttar Pradesh Government Committee has released the letters of intent for the establishment of two private universities. The committee has now given approval for the setting up two private universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The universities that will be set up in Uttar Pradesh are JBM Global University in Gautam Budh Nagar, a part of Delhi-NCR and the second university named Saroj International University in Lucknow.

The committee issued the letter of intent on Monday, October 17, 2022. It recommended issuing letters of intent for the establishment of two private universities in the state as per the official's statement. The UP-Government Committee held a meeting regarding the establishment of universities in the private sector under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra.

In the meeting, three proposals were presented to the committee wherein a recommendation letter was issued for setting up JBM Global University and Saroj International University.  "After going through the proposals regarding the setting up the private universities needs to be presented before the committee within the given time," Mishra said.

As per reports, the panel will send the letter of intent to the management of the universities and the setting up of more universities shall be discussed and necessary decisions will be taken up to set up more such universities.

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that the state is close to achieving the vision of ‘One District One Medical College’ which remained a ‘distant dream’ for 70 years. The government will ensure the presence of proper health care and medical facilities in every district, he said.
