The University of Delhi popularly known as Delhi University (DU) receives approximately around 2.58 lakh applications to fill up nearly 63,000 undergraduate seats which are offered by various affiliated colleges of the university. Delhi University is one of the most sought-after universities in the country when it comes to pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate education. DU has been known for having extremely high cutoffs, with first few rounds ranging between 90-100 percent at most of its colleges in streams like Commerce and Science. This creates a lot confusion among students in shortlisting the perfect course and college at the Delhi University based on their preferred course. With an aim to give equal opportunity to students, the Delhi University from this year onwards, admission at Delhi University will be done through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score.

The Ministry of Education conducts annual excercise of ranking of education institutions in the country, National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), DU colleges are also ranked in the NIRF Ranking and a good number of them feature among the top 10 colleges in the country. NIRF Rankings are helpful for candidates in selecting the top colleges for the course of their choice. In this article, we have listed the best DU colleges to pursue a Science course. ATMA RAM SANATAN DHARMA

Established by the Sanatan Dharma Sabha (Rawalpindi) Delhi, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is a co-educational college of DU that is located at Dhaula Kuan. Spread over an area of 12.31 acres, DU’s Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is part of the South Campus. The college offers students with arts, science and commerce courses at the UG level and at the PG level it offers courses such as MA English, MA Hindi, MA Political Science and MCom.

DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAY COLLEGE

Year of Establishment: 1990

Recently shifted to Dwarka, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College was initially located at Karampura. The college receives a 100% grant from the Government of NCT of Delhi. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College of DU has a student strength of 2,531. Out of this number 1,422 are male students and the remaining 1,109 are female students. The new campus of the DU College is built on a plot of 7.7 acres.

An all-girls’ college, DU’s Gargi College is a part of the South Campus of the university. The college is known to have a strength of 3,500 students and is known to house 180 faculty members. HANS RAJ COLLEGE

Year of Establishment: 1948

Founded by DAV College Managing Committee in the memory of Mahatama Hans Raj, Hans Raj College is located at Delhi University’s North campus. Hansraj College is one of the largest constituent colleges of Delhi University with more than 5,000 students being imparted UG, PG education. Hansraj has been ranked among one of the top five colleges for science, commerce and arts courses several times in the last decade. College's distinguished alumni included bureaucrats, eminent authors, politicians, academics and business tycoons. 

The college is famous for its science and commerce courses. Year of Establishment: 1954
The foundation stone of the current college building of Kirori Mal College was laid down by the first President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad.
