The Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais has announced that the vice-chancellors of the state universities will be held responsible for delay in the announcement of results. He has also advised the VCs to declare the results of various examinations within the stipulated time limit of 45 days.

The Maharashtra Governor was addressing the meeting of vice-chancellors of traditional, agricultural, health sciences, technological and open universities at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The meeting was held to review the progress of the National Education Policy (NEP) implementation for the upcoming 2023-24 academic session.

The Governor statement comes in the backdrop of the continuous delay in release of hall ticket, time table and results by the Mumbai universities. He said that the “future of students is directly linked to the declaration of results”.

"He further hoped that less than two months are left for new academic year to begin, and Maharashtra would set for the nation the example of the model implementation of the National Education Policy," the official statement read.

“The Governor cautioned that vice chancellors will be held accountable for the delay in declaration of results and dispensation of marksheets,” it said. "Vice-chancellors and acting VCs of University of Mumbai, SNDT Women’s University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Shivaji University, Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapith, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University and Dr Homi Bhabha State University were present in the meeting," it added.
