Will JEE Mains 2022 be postponed due to COVID: Check latest updates
The first session of JEE Main 2022 which is slated to be held in February is most likely to be held in March or later as the registration process has not yet started.
The NTA has not yet released the JEE Mains 2022 notification. The registration process which usually begins by January had been delayed which is causing great concern to students preparing for JEE Main 2022 exam. The first session exam is slated to be held in February but, since the registration process has not yet started, the first session is most likely to be held in March or later.
Will JEE Mains 2022 be postponed?
The registration process for the exam is already delayed by a month and thus the first session exam which is held in February stands postponed with no official notification. When will the first session of JEE Main 2022 exam be held is not clear as NTA has not released any notification in this regard.
However, as the CBSE class 12 term 2 exams is scheduled to be held from April 26, the first session of JEE Mains 2022 is likely to be held in March last week or lately by April second week.
Increasing COVID cases and Assembly elections in five major states are the main reasons behind the delay in organizing JEE Main 2022 exam. The exam has been postponed looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and taking into account the safety and well being of the students.
The decision has been taken in the larger public interest and the safety of students. NTA is likely to release JEE Main notification 2022 anytime soon on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The registration process for the exam will begin soon after the announcement of exam dates.
Students will also be appearing for the second term of class 12 board exams in March and April. As per various news reports, NTA is in talks with various boards for the schedule of board exams and JEE Main 2022 exam dates will be finalized with no clash with board exam dates.
Number of attempts in JEE Main 2022
NTA increased the number of attempts to four in 2021. The exam is also likely to be held in four sessions this year however, as the first attempt exam has been delayed, NTA might consider decreasing the number of attempts to two.
Will there be any change in the exam pattern and syllabus?
NTA is less likely to make any changes in the exam pattern which was changed last year and was received well by the students. Also, the syllabus of JEE Main is most likely to remain the same as the previous year.
