GNM Eligibility Criteria 2026

To fill out the GNM nursing application form 2026, it is important to read the GNM eligibility criteria set by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). 1. The aspirant must have cleared class 12 in English and must have secured a minimum of 40 per cent in aggregate in the qualifying examination and English separately from any recognized board. State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible for State Open School, recognized by the State Government, and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the Central Government. However, aspirants with a Science stream will be given preference.
2. The aspirant must have passed class 12 in English, securing 40 per cent in aggregate in vocational ANM courses from any Institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
3. The aspirant must have passed class 12 with English, securing 40 per cent in aggregate in the  Vocational Health Care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre
4. The aspirant must be a Registered ANM with a qualifying mark

The GNM is a three-year diploma course in Nursing with six months of mandatory internship. It is a diploma course that can be pursued after class 12, irrespective of the stream taken in the qualifying exam (class 12).
