What is a Low NEET Score?

As per the cutoff released by the conducting body, NTA, a Low NEET Score is the rank at which admission to the MBBS course in top colleges becomes tough to secure. The NEET Qualifying Cutoff for every college is released at the time of counselling. Candidates with high ranks generally find it hard to get admission in the top government colleges such as AIIMS, Delhi; MAMC, Delhi; PGIMER, Chandigarh; UCMS, Delhi; KGMU, Lucknow; LHMC, Delhi, among others.

Take a look at the NEET Cutoff Percentile for the previous year for all category candidates as tabularized below. For the general and EWS category candidates, 50th percentile is a qualifying score.

Who can get admission with low NEET Scores?

Those candidates who qualify the NEET cutoff and get a decent score as per the qualifying cutoff released by the MBBS college in which he/she wants to seek admission can get admission even with low NEET Scores. In case a NEET aspirant scores below 144 (e.g., 143 or lower) in the General/EWS category, then he/she will not qualify for counselling. An opening rank for applying to the college is released in the seat matrix for each round of counselling, both by the AIQ seats and the State-counselling conducting bodies.

Yes, it is mandatory to appear for the ToGIGE even if the candidates have appeared for the NEET exam. The ToGIGE is a part of the selection process post the NEET exam. Those aspirants who clear the NEET cutoff are only eligible to appear for this test.
